Christmas 2019 - pattern paper background

Sorry for the long hiatus. I have been really busy. I just couldn’t find the time to blog. I still try to make cards whenever I can but blogging been taking a back seat as I wanted to let my physical self rest whenever I have free time and not burnt out. I generally craft & get the blog write- up done during my off days from work. But with short staffing at work, I couldn’t take time off. It does take a bit of time and effort to blog. Anyway, I made a bunch of Christmas cards this year with the little challenge I set myself and would like to share with you here. Hope you enjoy this very late post. I am really sorry for the bad photo quality here as it was really gloomy in November and December 2019 and I couldn't get any decent pictures.

I have this pad of beautiful Christmas theme pattern paper that I have for a while and been wanting to use them but years past and I have yet figured out how I wanted to use them. So I set myself a challenge to use them for this year Christmas card. Somehow, I ended using all the pattern papers as background.

For some of the cards, I added word dies and top up with lots of shine & gloss using Wink of Stella & Glossy Accents.

The following cards had various sentiment strips.

Shaped element were added to the remaining cards which I stamped with sentiment.

I hope you will find this post give you the courage and incentive to play with those pretty pattern papers instead of saving them for the perfect moments (which may never come)  or for fear of messing them up. I took the plunge and am happy with what was created.

Christmas 2017 - Holiday Floral Background

Hello and Happy New Year! Today I am sharing another Christmas card design. I know Christmas is long over but I had some technical problem with my laptop a week before Christmas and I only got it fixed just before New Year and could only post after then. For 2017, I decided to choose 2 products and see what I could made from them. This is the second product and it is using the Hero Arts Holiday Floral Bold Prints.

Christmas 2017 – Snowflakes

Hello and welcome! For this year's Christmas card, I decided to choose 2 products I have and see what I could made from them. For this post, I am sharing how I created 3 different card designs using this MFT Stylish Snowflakes die. Craft products are fun but the costs does add up so it would be great if we could do as much as we could with one product to get our money worth.

Monochromatic background stamping

Hello. Hope you are doing well today.

For today's cards, I used the same technique by stamping small images with inks that complement the card base.

Bauble shaker card

Hello and welcome.

Today, I am sharing this Christmas bauble shaker card. I used 2 different techniques to raise the card front for the shaker and will share my experience with them.
I did not have any bauble die so I made my own bauble from some circle die and specialty papers.

Hope Santa brings you lots of goodies

Hello. Hope you are having a good day.

For today’s card, I stamped Mama Elephant Toy Shop image on watercolor paper, black heat embossed (with VersaMark and Wow Primary EbonySuper Fine embossing powder) and colored the image with watercolor.

Hello and thanks a lot for dropping by.

This is my last card for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. As I was short of time and really wanted to make more cards to support the cause, I made some clean and simple one-layer card.

Christmas carol

Hello and Welcome.
Today I am showing another set of cards I made for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

The dark background was blended using Distress Ink – Wilted Violet and Faded Jeans and sprayed with Perfect Pearls infused water and dabbed off. The ground was blended in using Distress Ink - Ground Espresso and Hickory Smoke and dabbed on with MFT white pigment ink. For one of the card, I wanted the ground to be snow-covered so I masked off the area before I blended the sky.

Christmas tree deco

Hello. This is Linda. Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to share with you my handmade cards. Card making is super-fun and you get to be creative and personalised it. I hope you will enjoy reading my blog and it will inspire you.
Today card is one I made for the Caring Hearts Card Drive where greeting cards were collected for elderly in nursing homes. This is such a sweet cause and so easy for us card makers to make a difference. Really hope these cards bring festive cheers to someone. As I was making a bunch of cards and wanted to save on postage, I tried to make one layer cards so it would be lighter.
