Polka dots background

I find that lately I had enjoyed spending time creating backgrounds for my cards. For the cards in the blogpost, I used MFT Peek-a-BooPolka Dots die to punch out many circles to create the card background. I finished all the cards differently using various elements that I had created previously and this technique is also a good way to use up your scraps.

Distress Oxides Embossed Background

Hello and welcome. Aren’t these backgrounds just gorgeous? I used Distress Oxide ink briefly in one of my earlier post and wanted to play with them more so I decided to do some background by blending Distress Oxide ink.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Fun in the Sun

I made 2 cards for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme Fun in the Sun using Mama Elephant product. When I think of Fun in the Sun, I thought of the beach or the park so I created these 2 cards based these scenes.I used primarily the images from Mama Elephant Little Boy Agenda, Little Girl Agenda and Little Cat Agenda.

Little Agenda & Distress Oxides Ink

I have been wanting to try Distress Oxide since I heard how well it blends with its dye and pigment properties. Ink blending has always been a challenge to me as I always find myself too heavy handed. As you can see in my cards here, the oxides ink blended very well and see how smooth they looked.

Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Pop Up Card - Birthday party theme

I absolutely adore this pop-up box card die. It is so much fun and there’s so many scenes you can create with it. I did a simple birthday theme for my first attempt using this die and I know I will use this die again many times in future.

Border stamp & Heat Embossing

I am a big fan of heat embossing! It did take me a while to get a heat gun and it’s not even a craft heat gun. I couldn’t find one locally within a reasonable price. While searching online, someone said they used a DIY heat tool for their art project and it worked well so I finally got a DIY heatgun.
