Christmas 2018 - Birch Tree

Hello and welcome! I had been ill on and off for the past 2 months and I just realised that I had totally forgotten to share my Christmas cards last year! OMG!

I had a couple of shaker cards to share with you today. Shaker card is an interactive card with a clear front and tiny elements inside the card that will move around when the card is shaken. All these cards have birch trees as a backdrop.

The first card had background blended using Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feather. Some white paint splatters were flicked onto the card to give the feel of falling snow.

The second shaker card is very similar to the first card but has a completely different feel. This one was ink blended with Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxides and water was sprayed copiously onto the card to give that oxidized look.

The birch trees were die-cut from Mama Elephant Birch Tree die. The image is from Clearly Besotted Woodland Pals (discontinued). It was very simple to stamp the image with one ink and it came out beautifully.

The third card is not a shaker card. I layered the birch tree to give it additional layers and added some pearls to the card. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings.

Hope today’s card give you some inspiration and ideas for your next project. Thank you for dropping by and wishing a Happy New Year.
